1. Floyd Mayweather Jr. (32-0, 21 KOs)
Hits: If he retired today at age 27 he would be a Hall of Fame shoo-in. He's won titles in two divisions and beaten outstanding competition along the way.
Misses: Constant outside-the-ring turmoil often overshadows his brilliant career.
2. Bernard Hopkins (44-2-1, 31 KOs)
Hits: Finally has everything he ever wanted: A megafight with Oscar De La Hoya next week, the accompanying $10 million purse of his dreams, the undisputed title and a Hall of Fame legacy.
Misses: Despite his enormous good fortune, he still carries huge chip on his shoulder.
3. Erik Morales (47-1, 34 KOs)
Hits: Four-plus years after their legendary first fight, Morales and Marco Antonio Barrera complete their trilogy Thanksgiving weekend. That's something to be thankful for.
Misses: Decisions in first two fights with Barrera left a little to be desired, so we hope the judges, if needed, get it right this time.
4. Antonio Tarver (22-2, 18 KOs)
Hits: Since beating Roy Jones, he's been gracious, fan-friendly and accessible, everything we want in a champion.
Misses: Other than a third fight with Jones, his weight class offers very little in the way of attractive matches.
5. Roy Jones Jr. (49-2, 38 KOs)
Hits: By fighting Glen Johnson and being fair with him, he's providing Johnson with a life-securing $1 million payday.
Misses: When he lost to Montell Griffin he did everything he could to get him right back in the ring. He hasn't shown that sort of fanatical desire to fight Tarver again.
6. Winky Wright (47-3, 25 KOs)
Hits: After years of fighting in anonymity, beating Shane Mosley gave him the recognition he deserved.
Misses: Fall rematch with Mosley excites us about as much as a dentist appointment.
Second six: Oscar De La Hoya, Juan Manuel Marquez, Manny Pacquiao, Rafael Marquez, Cory Spinks, Marco Antonio Barrera.
